The chamomile plants are installed in rows in April, after layering and aging 2-3 months in a nursery. The plantation will be kept for 4 to 5 years and is maintained by mechanical and manual weeding, hoeing and weeding. The plots are naturally pollinated.

Chamomile is native to Western Europe.
Its name comes from the Greek "Khamaimêlon" which means "apple of the ground" because of the smell of apples which emerges from the ground when one walks on it. In ancient Egypt, Roman Chamomile symbolized the sun and was dedicated to the god Ra. The Egyptians used it to embalm their dead.
Indeed, in German and Nordic mythology, it is one of the nine sacred plants that the sky god Odin gave to men. Its name of "matricaire" comes from the Latin "matri" which means "mother", because it was mainly used to treat what one called at the time the "diseases of the women". In the language of flowers, Chamomile expresses "patience in the face of adversity". Its fragrant flowers with white petals and yellow hearts that appear between May and October are among the most studied plants and the most used in herbal medicine. With known digestive and calming properties, Chamomile hydrosol is traditionally used for the care of babies, especially in cases of colic or painful teething.
